Over the past 30 years, Christian Marclay has explored the fusion of fine art and audio cultures, transforming sounds and music into a visible, physical form through performance, collage, sculpture, installation, photography and video.
For 'Manga Scroll' in show in his 'The Clock' exhibition at White Cube, Darbyshire made a 18m long glass vitrine.
Marclay's most recent collage-based work 'Manga Scroll' is a 20-metre long scroll featuring hundreds of onomatopoeic words excerpted from Manga cartoons, collaged by Marclay to create a chain of words buzzing with aural energy.*
