Mirrors at Pippy Houldsworth Gallery

British artist Dan Holdsworth will present a solo show of new photographs, entitled Mirrors from 2 to 31 May 2014 at Pippy Houldsworth Gallery. Darbyshire had the pleasure of framing these striking, large scale photos with American walnut, and UV acrylic.

Houldsworth investigates the relationship between mapping, photography and visual perception, exploring technological notions of the sublime. Depicting barren, geological terrains which resemble planetary landscapes, Holdsworth’s work is concerned with engaging an abstract/material language of photography to explore questions of human perception and our relationship with nature.
