Darren Almond was selected as a nominee for this years Turner prize along side Gillian Carnegie, Jim Lambie and Simon Starling. Almond has worked with Darbyshire for years from the early days of ‘Tuesday 1440 minutes’ in 1996, which involved multiple framing to his exhibition in February of this year, ‘K21’ held in Düsseldorf, Germany February 2005.
Concerned with the recording and passing of time Almond work involves films, photographs, live satellite broadcasts as well as sculptures and drawings.
He was the youngest artist to exhibit in Sensation (1997-1999) and ‘Apocalypse’ which both took place at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Darren Almond shows at the White Cube.
