For Pamela Golden's 'The Word' exhibition at the Gimpel Fils Gallery, miniature paintings required a framing solution offering solemnity and stature.
Darbyshire sought to give these small paintings presence by housing them in broad white, seamless one piece material frames into which apertures were cut. The work was then float mounted with paper wrapped fillets and glazed in Denglas. Thus the paintings appeared like jewels in a confident understated housing. back |
